Process Explorer
Using the built in Process Explorer to view the information about each process that running is not the best way to accomplish this task. The best way to do this is to use a third party program that has the ability to view and analyze the information stored in the registry. As we all know, there are thousands of different programs and files on your computer that need to be 'frozen' to prevent them from being used or deleted. However, you cannot tell if they have been frozen because they are hidden in the Windows system folder. This is where a third party tool such as Process Explorer comes in handy. Using the built in Explorer and searching for the 'Task Manager' option, you will find out how many instances of that particular program the Task Manager shows. Now if you search for the program itself using the "Program Files"Program Works" directories, you will see if the program is running. However, when you use Process Explorer, you will find out how many times the program has been run by how many instances it is running. By using the same process, you can then run it once using the same parameters and then run it many times with the same parameters. This will let you know how much time the program is spending in the Registry. This tool is available for download for free but the license you get to use is limited to one lifetime and it cannot be used to attempt to delete any program. If you want to use the free version of the software, you will have to get an upgrade to the paid version. But the free version is still worth trying out because it will allow you to quickly see what is going on with your computer. Plus, it also allows you to download the application.
